General Beton welcomes the first Spider Boom Pump into the East-Coast of Australia and has been an innovative tool in concrete pumping since. This machine is light-weight subject to a load of 5 tonnes in comparison to a tower boom loading of 30 tonnes. It is mobile and able to be easily moved with a tower crane, perfect for reach into tight corners. In previous projects, the spider boom has been able to eliminate the need of extra static lines and in turn, reducing labour costs and increasing efficiency on a concrete pour. Now servicing over 4 projects, this spider boom is continually in demand by our clients.

Here at General Beton, we aim to diversify ourselves and be involved in projects that bring about a challenge. With the development of high-rise buildings across NSW and South-East QLD, we have been actively involved in pumping concrete up to levels that are 250m high. The challenge in the construction of high-rises involves the delivery of concrete and the pump-ability of high strength concrete along a long pipeline. We have successfully completed projects that are examples of the challenge we have taken on to achieve the optimum concrete finish. These include:

Altitude- Church St, Parramatta – two towers consisting of 54 and 38 levels respectively.

Infinity- Herschel St, Brisbane – Single tower consisting of 81 levels.

Soleil- Adelaide St, Brisbane – Single tower consisting of 74 levels.

Skyhaus- Macquarie St, Liverpool – twin towers consisting of 30 levels each.

We look forward to accept more challenges in high-rise development using our fleet of concrete pumps and skilled labour.

General Beton is always considering new construction methods. Being part of a growing city with density increasing and space being a premium, we are becoming limited on site for concrete pumps. This is especially the case for Mobile boom pumps, so we have invested into the usage of onsite placing booms. Once installed in central location the benefits of coverage, increase production and decrease manual handlings in turn providing improvement to site efficiency.
As a result, pumping locations are reduced to a minimal footprint. As an example, Trailer and Skid pumps will need half the area to set up than a mobile line pump or a third of the area of a mobile boom pump. Washout areas are kept to a confined and controlled area. With the appropriate planning and consultation process, what were once concerning issues for our clients are now just part of the construction process.

Ask us how we can use this system on your next project! Contact Us Here.

A mixed residential and commercial tower is the final piece of Meriton’s Sundale Precinct. The tower will rise 58 levels with a typical floor plate of 1330m2 comprising of two lift cores. The construction method used a fully incorporated jump form system for all vertical elements. This method enabled a 5 day floor cycle. High strength concrete 90mpa was used for lift walls and tower columns. A strong association with our concrete supplier enabled us to design mixes which were pumpable and achieve the design criteria. We were able to meet the architect’s specification of Class A finish to external elements.
